Google Translate has outdone itself when it comes to language support

Google announced a massive language support expansion for Google Translate in an official statement earlier today.

Google Translate, which first impressed everyone when it was launched in 2006, continues to surpass itself with the development of artificial intelligence models. The platform, which initially served only a few languages, will now support 110 different languages with this latest announcement.

Google announced today that it has added a total of 110 new languages to the Google Translate framework by leveraging the capabilities of its advanced artificial intelligence model, PaLM 2 AI. These new languages include some you may not have heard of before, such as Afar, Cantonese, Manx, Nko, Punjabi, Tamazight, and Tok Pisin.

The newly added languages represent more than 614 million speakers in total, roughly 8 percent of the world’s population, the company said. Among these languages are those with over 100 million active speakers as well as languages with no active speakers today.

Google Translate now supports 110 languages, opening up new opportunities for millions of people around the world. People will be able to explore different cultures more easily, access information faster, and communicate more comfortably with people in various languages. This development signifies that the language barriers, which began to break down slowly in the early 2000s, will be completely eliminated with the help of artificial intelligence models.
