In South Korea, Samsung added an intriguing pre-order bonus for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 series – the New Galaxy NFT collection.
The company has now confirmed that this New Galaxy NFT will also be extended to customers who pre-order the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 later this month.
Alongside this announcement, Samsung has revealed some additional perks associated with owning these NFTs.
Samsung Announces NFT Collection!
Currently, the New Galaxy NFTs by Samsung don’t have a practical application, which is a common characteristic of many NFTs. However, Samsung Electronics is planning to enhance the value of these commemorative NFTs by creating a connection between the virtual and real worlds.
The company has recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with several local entities. This partnership aims to offer real-world benefits to owners of the New Galaxy NFT in South Korea. As a result, these NFT owners will soon be able to enjoy discounts and savings at various establishments such as Digital Plaza, Show Gold, The Shilla Duty Free Shop, and e-Cruise, by authenticating their NFT.
Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 10 at 16:00 Turkish time. Customers will have the opportunity to pre-order these new foldable devices along with the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Buds Pro. Additionally, those who pre-order will be eligible to receive up to $200 in Samsung Credits.
While the booking bonuses are clear, the specifics of other pre-order bonuses beyond the New Galaxy NFT remain unknown. Nonetheless, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will be Samsung’s first foldable phones to offer an associated NFT as a pre-order bonus. It is still uncertain whether this promotion will extend to customers outside South Korea.
Samsung Increases Web3 Initiatives!
Samsung has a history of engaging with NFTs. Earlier in January, the company announced the introduction of an NFT and a virtual store within Decentraland.
This venture included a Galaxy S22 themed event hunt for players. More recently, Samsung has entered into a collaboration with Roblox, launching the Metaverse-based experience “Space Tycoon,” developed as part of this partnership.
“Space Tycoon” is a game tailored to entertain Gen Z users. In this virtual world, Samsung offers an environment where users can create Metaverse products by selecting their core components. The experience also features a shop where in-game items can be purchased.
Beyond gaming, Samsung is actively involved in various software experiences encompassing both gaming and entertainment sectors.
The company is working on multiple projects with industry partners. One such project is aimed at enabling the delivery of NFTs through Samsung smart TVs. Additionally, Samsung has launched an NFT platform in partnership with Nifty Gateway, a well-known NFT marketplace.
