The AI tools presented by these tech giants were among the most noteworthy innovations at the ChinaJoy Expo, one of China’s largest events held in Shanghai. Additionally, the development of AI tools for game creation extends beyond these three companies, as other firms also showcased their own solutions.

How will the future of gaming be shaped?

Tencent has introduced a wide array of artificial intelligence tools, stating that these tools cover the “full lifecycle” of the game development process using generative AI. Microsoft reports that its Azure OpenAI service is utilized by the Chinese game company Perfect World for NPCs and also serves other gaming companies. Amazon highlights that it employs the AWS cloud computing platform and Amazon Bedrock for its gaming clients.

The use of generative artificial intelligence in the gaming industry is on the rise, particularly in creating visuals, objects, and dialogues. Google’s DeepMind has developed the Genie AI model, which can create games from photos. NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, has also mentioned that games made entirely with artificial intelligence are not far off.
