Unveiling Sony’s PlayStation VR2: A New Gaming Era

There had been speculation about an advanced VR headset being in the works, and at CES 2022, these rumors were substantiated. Sony officially announced the PlayStation VR2, marking the next generation in their VR headset lineup.


PlayStation VR2 to Debut with 4K Resolution Support

The upcoming PlayStation VR2 headset is set to offer a seamless viewing experience with HDR support and 4K resolution. At CES 2022, Sony revealed that this new VR headset will provide a significantly enhanced field of view and eye-tracking features, allowing users to focus on different areas without needing to turn their heads.

The VR2 will feature a high resolution of 2000×2040 and a broad 110-degree viewing angle. Sony also confirmed that the device would support a screen refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, ensuring a smooth and responsive visual experience.

With the introduction of VR2 Sense, Sony is aiming to deliver an exceptionally immersive VR experience. This includes adaptive haptic feedback and vibrations that mimic real-world sensations. Designed for ease of use, the new device will connect to the PS5 with just a single cable.

Additionally, the event highlighted a new game in the acclaimed Horizon series. “Horizon: Call of the Mountain,” specifically designed for the PlayStation VR2, is scheduled for release following the launch of the VR headset
