Perfume Production Begins for Metaverse
Byredo, the luxury perfume manufacturer, is partnering with the digital fashion startup RTFKT, recently acquired by Nike, to create perfumes for the metaverse
The collaboration aims to produce both digital auras and physical and digital perfumes designed to be worn by metaverse avatars. The physical perfume bottles will feature NFC tags linked to NFTs.
The collaboration will involve working with the Paris-based agency called M/M. Together, Byredo and RTFKT, with the visual design assistance of M/M, plan to create 26 content pieces representing emotions (sharpness, harmony, purity, and virtue).
These contents will be available for sale within RTFKT’s avatar ecosystem, with a limited number of sales.
While this marks Byredo’s first venture into the metaverse, RTFKT has previously collaborated with Nike on the Cryptokicks project, designing and selling digital sneakers.
