Surprise Claim About Apple Vision Pro 2 Release Date

According to information obtained by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple plans to introduce the Vision Pro 2 earlier than expected. We might see the device arrive within the next few months.

Apple officially launched its $3,500 mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro, a device that put them in an entirely new category, back in 2023. While still not available in every country and catering to a niche market due to its incredibly high price, a new generation of this headset was anticipated. However, there were differing opinions on when this would happen.

Now, information has come from Bloomberg Editor Mark Gurman, whom we can consider the most reliable Apple source. According to Gurman’s sources close to the matter, Apple could unveil the new Vision Pro with us very soon.

Potential Release This Year, M4 Chip Expected

The news shared by Gurman indicates that Apple is preparing to introduce a brand-new Vision Pro version before the end of this year. He added that the device will be powered by the M4 processor, one of the company’s top-tier chips, which we’ve already seen in the new iPads and Macs. It’s worth noting that the current Vision Pro model uses the M2 chip. This means we could see a significant performance increase, especially for artificial intelligence functionalities.

In addition to a faster processor, changes are also planned for the strap that secures the device to your head. It was reported that the current model caused discomfort after wearing it for a while. This won’t be an issue with the new generation, as the redesigned strap will offer a much more comfortable experience suitable for longer use. Although Apple claims the new strap will reduce headaches and neck strain, details on how this will be achieved have not been shared.

This is all the information currently available about the device. There’s no precise date for when it might arrive, but we can assume it will be in the fall. It’s important to note that this device will be the Vision Pro 2. A more affordable Vision Pro version is expected to be released in the coming years.
