Surviving Mars: Relaunched

Paradox Interactive has announced Surviving Mars: Relaunched, a remastered version of the colony simulation game Surviving Mars. The new version will feature revamped graphics, new gameplay mechanics, and extensive mod support.

The original Surviving Mars, a sci-fi themed city-building and management simulation, was first announced by Paradox Interactive in 2017. Eight years later, the game is being revived as Surviving Mars: Relaunched. It will include significant updates to both its graphics and gameplay. Haemimont Games, the original developer, is returning to work on this remaster.

The core objective of the game remains the same: making Mars habitable for humans. Players will establish a small colony in a harsh environment, bring more settlers from Earth, and manage resources to make the colony self-sustaining. Successful colonies will have the opportunity to grow and thrive in the long run.

All DLC Included and a New Political System

The new version will come with all previously released DLC packs. This includes major expansions like Space Race, Project Laika, and Green Planet, as well as smaller content packs like new radio stations. The game will also feature improved graphics and lighting, along with a completely revamped user interface (UI) to give players easier access to city management tools.

One of the most notable new additions is the Martian Assembly system. This system will allow for the formation of political structures and factions within colonies. Players will be able to enact laws, develop policies, and even declare full independence from Earth.

Paradox has also announced enhanced mod support for the new version. Players will be able to use developer tools to design their own buildings, parks, and mysteries to explore. The mod platform will support cross-platform play, making it easy for console players to download and install mods directly from within the game.

A definitive release date for Surviving Mars: Relaunched has not been announced yet, but the game is expected to be released soon on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The price for the new version will be $39.99. Those who own the original game will be able to purchase the new version for $19.99.
