Meta’s New Artificial Intelligence Model Could Change Everything: It Understands the Physical World!

Meta’s newly developed artificial intelligence (AI) model, according to the company, has the potential to understand the physical world and even predict what might happen next. With its newly introduced AI model, Meta aims to revolutionize how machines comprehend the world. Named “V-JEPA 2“, the model enables AI to grasp the laws of physics.

Until now, most AI systems relied heavily on training data or video inputs to make sense of the world. However, these methods fell short when it came to fully understanding real-world events. Meta’s new model, however, allows AI to make intuitive predictions — for example, recognizing that a ball rolling off a table will fall to the ground. In other words, it won’t need everything to be taught in advance anymore.

According to Meta, this development is especially crucial for robots and autonomous vehicles, since these systems might no longer need to learn every scenario ahead of time. This opens the door to more flexible and human-like adaptive AI.

Unlike traditional approaches, V-JEPA 2 does not require massive datasets. This makes it a more practical solution in terms of time and cost. Meta states that this could lead to the development of more efficient AI systems suitable for use in the real world. In short, robots will no longer just imitate what they see — they’ll start to “anticipate what might happen next.”
