Hyundai Elexio’s Interior Images Shared

Beijing Hyundai has released interior images of its first all-electric SUV, the Elexio. This technologically advanced vehicle is set to hit the market in the third quarter of this year.

Hyundai’s Chinese joint venture, Beijing Hyundai, officially shared the interior visuals of the Elexio, its inaugural fully electric SUV. Equipped with a powertrain produced by BYD, the vehicle is expected to be launched in the third quarter of this year.

A prominent feature of the Elexio’s interior design is the 27-inch dual-screen instrument cluster with 4K resolution. Additionally, paddles located on the steering wheel allow drivers to switch between a four-stage regenerative braking system and activate one-pedal driving mode. The vehicle also includes two wireless charging pads for the driver and front passenger, along with a total of 29 different storage compartments.

The Elexio SUV has completed its sales license application in China. The vehicle will be offered in two different versions: front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The FWD version is equipped with a single 160 kW motor, while the AWD version adds a 73 kW rear motor, bringing the total power output to 233 kW (312 hp). The maximum speed for both versions is stated as 185 km/h. The vehicle will use a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by FinDreams, a sub-brand of BYD. According to CLTC measurements, its range is expected to reach up to 700 kilometers.

The Hyundai Elexio was first showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, though technical details were not disclosed at the time. It was then introduced as part of Hyundai’s electrification vision during a global launch on May 8th. The Beijing-based company announced that the Elexio will be built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and that this model represents the return of foreign joint ventures in China’s electric vehicle market.
