Gemini Can Now See and Analyze Your Emails, Documents, and Chats

Gemini is now capable of performing research and processing, even on your private data, through its Deep Research mode (known in some regions). Google announced a significant update for its AI-powered assistant, Gemini’s Deep Research feature. Users can now conduct “deep research” across their emails, Drive documents, and chat history.
Google states that this feature transforms Gemini into a “research assistant” that can create multi-step research plans and generate comprehensive reports, rather than just answering questions. Users can further refine the generated reports with additional information or convert them into Google Docs or an AI-generated podcast.
Companies Can Use All Their Internal Data in Deep Research

Deep Research now also works directly integrated with Workspace products. This means a team looking to perform a marketing analysis can have Gemini analyze email threads, project plans, and documents. Furthermore, comprehensive reports on competitor products can be generated, blending both public data and internal team files and chats.
The feature is currently available only on desktop but will be rolled out to mobile devices soon.
Google states that it will prioritize privacy, but the inclusion of users’ personal data in AI analysis is expected to spark debates regarding security and data confidentiality.
