World’s First Humanoid Robot App Store Announced

Unitree Robotics, a Chinese firm, has unveiled the world’s first humanoid robot app store. Giving skills to robots and sharing them will now be quite easy. Equipping robots with abilities just like downloading apps to smartphones is no longer a fantasy. Unitree Robotics announced that it has opened the door to a new era in robot interaction by introducing the world’s first humanoid robot app store.
Thanks to the new platform, users can control humanoid robots directly via their mobile phones, install new skills through apps, and utilize motion sets shared by others. The system, announced through videos shared on YouTube, X, and China’s social platform RedNote, aims to bring robots one step closer to daily life.
Robot Capabilities Are Now on Phones This digital hub, named the Unitree Robotics Developer Platform, gathers software, training data, and remote control tools under a single roof. It is possible to guide the robot’s movements via the phone camera. Furthermore, robots can exhibit remarkable performances such as Bruce Lee-inspired martial arts displays, the famous 60s dance “The Twist,” and ballet performances.
Additionally, the issue is not just entertainment. Users and developers enable robots to gain new capabilities by uploading and downloading motion and training data. This means a skill taught to one robot can be rapidly transferred to other robots. In short, there is now an “app ecosystem” for robots as well.
