Meet Aladdin: The World’s Most Luxurious Humanoid Robot

I’ve seen some wild things in the tech world—gold-plated iPhones, diamond-encrusted headphones, you name it. But Caviar (the luxury brand that usually sticks to pimping out Apple products) just took things to a whole new dimension. They’ve introduced Aladdin, a custom-built, ultra-luxury humanoid robot based on the Unitree G1 platform.

When I first saw the renders, I did a double-take. This isn’t just a robot; it’s basically a high-tech “Genie” straight out of a digital 1001 Nights tale. It’s where hardcore robotics meets high-end Middle Eastern craftsmanship.

More Than Just a “Skin”: Artistry on Metal

What makes Aladdin different isn’t the software—it’s the soul (or at least the suit). Caviar didn’t just spray-paint it gold. They’ve completely re-imagined the robot’s exterior to reflect Arabic culture and Islamic art.

  • Handcrafted Details: Each robot is made-to-order. We’re talking about gold accents, precious stone inlays, and intricate engravings that you’d usually see on a royal scepter, not a robot.
  • Cultural Silhouette: The design mimics traditional Eastern garments like the chapan or kaftan. It’s a strange, beautiful blend of ancient tradition and futuristic hardware.
  • Ultimate Personalization: You don’t just buy an Aladdin; you co-design it. Buyers get to choose the symbols, motifs, and materials. Every unit is essentially a one-of-one masterpiece.

The Brains Under the Gold: Unitree G1

I’m glad Caviar chose the Unitree G1 as the foundation. Underneath all that finery, Aladdin is actually quite capable.

The G1 is a beast in the robotics world, standing about 130 cm tall and weighing 35 kg. It features 23 degrees of freedom, meaning it can move its joints with incredible fluidity. It can walk, gesture, and maintain balance with an agility that’s honestly a bit surreal to watch.

My Take: Usually, when brands “glam up” technology, they use outdated hardware. But by using the G1, Caviar is ensuring this isn’t just a static gold statue—it’s a functioning, moving piece of the future.

A Modern “Genie” for the Digital Age

Caviar is positioning this as a modern retelling of the Aladdin legend. Instead of a genie appearing from a lamp, we have intelligence emerging from a machine. It’s a shift from “magic” to digital mastery.

Is it practical? Probably not. You’re likely not going to have a $100k+ gold-plated robot doing your laundry. But as a statement piece for a tech mogul or a luxury collector? It’s the ultimate “I live in the future” flex.

How Much Does a Robot “Genie” Cost?

In typical Caviar fashion, if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it. They haven’t released a public price tag, and they only share details with serious buyers upon request. Considering they recently sold a $12,000 chocolate egg with an iPhone inside, I’m guessing Aladdin will cost as much as a luxury sports car, if not more.

What do you think?

If money were no object, would you want a robot that looks like a futuristic machine, or do you prefer this “artistic” approach where technology is hidden under gold and cultural motifs? Personally, I find the contrast between the cold metal and the warm gold engravings fascinating. Let’s talk in the comments!
