Sportswear brand Skechers is venturing into the metaverse universe with plans to open a virtual store in Decentraland.
As the Metaverse gains widespread acceptance, numerous brands are accelerating their efforts in this space.
Skechers, the third-largest sneaker brand in the USA, has secured a lease to establish a store in Decentraland’s Fashion District.
Moreover, Skechers has taken steps to trademark the sale of virtual goods, including shoes and clothing, internationally, signaling its commitment to expanding further into the digital realm.
The upcoming Skechers store in the Fashion District coincides with the location where Decentraland will host the inaugural Metaverse Fashion Week from March 24-27.
Commenting on this development, Skechers President Michael Greenberg stated, “Our Decentraland agreement is an investment in our future.
We eagerly anticipate entering this virtual era and exploring innovative ways for our brand to connect with new customers and audiences as we introduce the new Skechers experience.”
