New AI features coming to Photoshop and Illustrator

Adobe has added several new tools and generative AI features to Illustrator and Photoshop. The company says the new tools will help speed up creative workflows.

Adobe has announced that they have added new AI-based features to Photoshop and Illustrator, two of its most popular software. The new features, which were demoed, will help speed up daily creative workflows and give creators more control.

Notable updates are coming to Illustrator thanks to the Firefly Vector 2 AI model. Firefly Vector 2 brings new Illustrator features such as Generative Shape Fill, which allows users to add detailed vectors to shapes through descriptive text prompts. The updated model also improves Text to Pattern, which can be used to create scalable, customized vector patterns for things like wallpapers, and Style Reference, which produces output that mirrors existing styles.

The new update also brings the Size tool, which automatically adds sizing information for projects other than generative AI, the Mockup feature to preview how designs look in 3D products, and the Rewrite feature to turn static text in images into something that can be edited.

Create image is now available on desktop and web

As for Photoshop, the Generate Image feature, powered by Adobe’s latest Firefly Image 3 model, is now available in Photoshop desktop and web apps. Enhance Detail for Generative Fill can now provide more sharpness and detail when applied to large images. There’s also a Selection Brush tool that allows users to more easily select and separate specific objects from the canvas by painting over them.
