Meta allocates huge funding for AI voiceover

According to sources close to Meta, the company has begun meeting with numerous famous Hollywood stars and artists for its next-generation artificial intelligence model. Meta’s target list reportedly includes prominent figures such as Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, Snoop Dogg, and Judi Dench.

The company has offered millions of dollars to secure the rights to use these celebrities’ voices for training AI voice clones. If all goes according to plan, these deals are expected to be finalized before the Connect 2024 event and officially announced at the event.

Interestingly, Scarlett Johansson is not among the celebrities Meta is targeting. It’s possible that Meta is avoiding her due to her previous disagreements with OpenAI and her lawsuit against the company.

Meta’s new initiative recalls its earlier move into AI chatbots, where it collaborated with celebrities like Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg but did not achieve the anticipated success. As you may recall, Amazon made similar efforts but removed this feature from its app in 2023.
