Granite Manufacturer Purchased The Island In Sandbox

Domestic granite producer Qua Granite has made a significant foray into the metaverse by investing in and acquiring an island within the digital universe.
The announcement comes as Qua Granite revealed its purchase of one of the 25 islands available in the Sandbox metaverse. Tijen Akdoğan Ünver, Board Member of Qua Granite, shared the company’s perspective on metaverse investments:

“We are proud to be the pioneer in our industry with our investment in the metaverse. Our acquisition of an island in the Sandbox signifies the beginning of a new chapter for us. In the near future, we plan to launch an NFT collection associated with our island.
This collection will grant access to exclusive events, stocks, discounts, and various benefits designed to enhance collaboration with our suppliers globally.”
What is The Sandbox?
The Sandbox is a decentralized virtual gaming world built on the Ethereum blockchain. It allows players and creators to build, own, and monetize their own gaming experiences using non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the platform’s utility token, SAND.
Here are the key features:
- Play-to-Earn: Users can earn rewards by playing games or creating content within the ecosystem.
- User-Generated Content (UGC): The platform provides tools like VoxEdit (for creating 3D voxel models) and Game Maker (for building games without coding) to empower creators.
- Virtual Real Estate: The world is divided into digital plots of land called LAND. Users can buy these NFTs to build games, host events, or rent them out to others.
- Ownership: Unlike traditional games, players truly own their in-game assets (avatars, items, land) as NFTs, giving them the freedom to sell or trade them on marketplaces.
