Free AI That Lets You Create Videos on Average Gaming PCs: FramePack!

A new artificial intelligence tool published for free on GitHub allows users to create videos locally on computers with just 6 GB of VRAM. Here’s what this fascinating AI tool has to offer…

Although AI is slowly becoming an integral part of our lives, using AI technologies is still not that easy. In most cases, it requires spending large amounts of money to access AI tools without restrictions. However, a new project on GitHub called “FramePack” may make video generation with AI on personal computers more accessible than ever.

FramePack is built upon a neural network architecture of the same name. The 13-billion-parameter model can generate videos locally on any computer with a GPU offering just 6 GB of VRAM. While the videos created are up to 60 seconds long, users will have a noteworthy experience thanks to FramePack.

How Does FramePack Make This Possible?

The FramePack architecture stands out from other AI models on the market by using multi-stage optimization techniques. It also allows for fine-tuning on pre-trained models, and thanks to the compression methods it employs, it significantly reduces the GPU memory load. This makes it possible to generate videos with AI using standard home computers.

According to the information on FramePack’s GitHub page, to use this tool, you need to have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000, 4000, or 5000 series GPU. The team notes that older GPUs have not been tested. There is no information shared about AMD or Intel GPUs. FramePack can be used on both Windows and Linux operating systems. If you’d like to access FramePack, you can use this link.
