Global investment powerhouse Franklin Templeton is introducing a new metaverse exchange-traded fund (ETF) tailored for European investors.
Named the Franklin Metaverse UCITS ETF, this fund is designed to mirror the performance of the Solactive Global Metaverse Innovation Net Total Return Index.
This particular index encompasses companies that are either investing in or have ties to the metaverse, blockchain applications, and entities like Block, as well as crypto investors such as Galaxy Digital.
Franklin Templeton made its foray into the blockchain arena last year, initially establishing a venture fund, followed by another blockchain-based fund. As of the end of July, the firm manages a total of $1.4 trillion in assets.
Dina Ting, the director of global index portfolio management at Franklin Templeton, has remarked that metaverse and blockchain technologies “have the potential to significantly impact diverse societies and contribute to global economic growth.”
