The DeLorean Motor Company, a recent entrant into the NFT and metaverse arena, is a well-known automaker that holds significant recognition, particularly due to its association with the iconic time machine from the Back to the Future trilogy— the DMC DeLorean.

The DeLorean has earned its place as one of the most iconic cars on screen, thanks to its prominent role in the movie series. Recently, the company behind this famed vehicle filed two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on May 30, covering both the DMC and DeLorean brands.

Licensed trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis shared this news on Friday, June 3, through his Twitter account. The filings indicate plans for the virtual realm, including virtual cars, NFT-powered media, and virtual car stores, signaling the DeLorean Motor Company’s foray into the world of digital assets and metaverse experiences.
