English Premier League Enters Metaverse World
Two trademark applications were recently filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by the English Premier League.
Many global brands have put NFTs and metaverse on their agenda to interact with more people. The English Premier League, one of the most watched sports leagues in the world, has also filed two trademark applications on these issues.

English Premier League Winks To Metaverse
Two trademark applications were recently filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by the English Premier League. The Premier League’s entry into the metaverse was announced by licensed trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis on June 6 via his Twitter account.
The trademark was made on June 1, 2022. The USPTO has confirmed that the application meets all its requirements. This move of the league; NFTs are also poised to enter industries such as cryptocurrencies, digital collectibles, digital trading cards, digital art, crypto trading, and virtual footwear. Previously, FIFA had filed a similar trademark application. Kondoudis said that the number of sports assets entering the metaverse will continue to increase, especially over the next 12 months.
In particular, Premier League champion Manchester City has already started to make its way through the metaverse. The club is building the world’s first football stadium in the metaverse with Sony’s virtual reality (VR) experts.
