Disney Appoints Executive for Metaverse Strategies

Disney is gearing up for the next wave of digital technologies and the internet by appointing an executive to oversee metaverse strategies.

In a memo sent to employees by Disney executives, Mike White has been named Senior Vice President of Next-Generation Storytelling and Customer Experiences. White has been with Disney for over 10 years.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek described the metaverse as “the perfect environment for the company to continue its work on its strategic pillars of storytelling excellence, innovation, and audience focus” in the memo.

In this newly created role, Mike White will be responsible for identifying and assessing collaboration opportunities and sharing insights on the metaverse.

Additionally, he will lead a team proficient in technology, strategy, and storytelling.
