Can Humanoid Robots Take Our Jobs? Here’s a Day in the Life of “Can-Do” Robot Oli

Humanoid robots are increasingly capturing attention with the tasks they undertake in the real world. Thanks to their physical abilities and AI-powered systems, they are being tested in many fields. Most recently, a robot developed in China made headlines with a video mimicking daily life. The video, which shows the humanoid robot’s daily routine, once again highlights the progress in this field.
LimX Dynamics, a Chinese technology company, developed a new humanoid robot named “Oli,” which attracted all the attention with its newly released video. The robot’s daily routine, starting with morning exercises and ending with an evening dance, quickly became a trending topic on social media.

In its daily routine video, the humanoid robot Oli starts its day by lifting weights at the gym. It then heads to the park to perform a kung fu demonstration with an elderly man. Later in the day, it goes to the LimX factory to handle tasks like carrying and sorting boxes. The humanoid robot’s daily routine has drawn significant attention.
The robot’s balance ability is also tested in the video. Even when a worker in the office kicks it in the back, the robot continues to walk without faltering. Standing at 165 cm and weighing 55 kg, Oli can be equipped with different parts thanks to its modular design. The gripper hand used for sorting boxes can be replaced with a five-fingered robotic hand if needed. The system, which is also compatible with third-party hardware like cameras, microphones, and sensors, is designed for both research and industrial use.
Having made significant progress in its development, Oli is currently on sale in China for a price of around $22,000. It is expected to be available in the global market soon. Information also suggests that LimX is working on an international version. Meanwhile, it’s not just China, but many technology companies in the US are also investing in humanoid robot projects.
