Burger King’s Creepy AI-Supported Ad: Halloween Chills
Burger King France has recently launched a spine-tingling advertisement that aligns with the Halloween spirit, incorporating classic spooky elements such as ghosts and monsters.
What sets this campaign apart is its use of artificial intelligence to create characters who are depicted simply enjoying a meal at a fast-food restaurant, with no explicit horror scenes involved.
However, the 35-second commercial gains its eerie atmosphere from the flaws, glitches, and illogical transitions that emerge due to the AI technology’s limitations, making it an intriguing blend of the ordinary with the unsettling.
Posters were also prepared
In addition to the video, Burger King France employed artificial intelligence to create posters that add a unique twist to the campaign. These posters feature customers who, with each bite of their burger, progressively lose their human form. This imaginative use of AI not only complements the eerie theme of the advertisement but also underscores the innovative approach of blending technology with traditional Halloween motifs to capture the audience’s attention in a novel way.
These striking visuals were created from straightforward commands like “a woman eating a burger” or “a man eating at Burger King”. The inventive agency, Buzzman, played a pivotal role in shaping this unique advertising campaign.
