You’ll Soon Be Able to Virtually “Try On” Any Shoe You See Online

Google has announced that it is bringing a feature to Google Shopping that allows you to virtually try on any shoe you like with the help of artificial intelligence.

As one of the leading firms in AI, Google has been integrating this technology into the shopping experience. We previously saw them introduce a feature that allows you to virtually try on clothing. Now, the company has announced a similar feature coming for shoes.

This feature, available through Google Shopping, will allow you to “try on” any sneakers, heels, slippers, or sandals you see online. This way, you can get an idea of how the item will look before you purchase it.

Try On Any Shoe You Want

It’s important to note that you won’t need to send Google a photograph that only includes your feet to use the feature. Instead, similar to the virtual clothing try-on feature, you just need to upload an image showing your entire body. Google’s artificial intelligence will then render the shoe you like, adjusting it to your body to show you how it will look.

Looking at the shared examples, we can see that it can display various types of shoes on the user. Even more intriguingly, the feature is reportedly capable of letting you try on shoes where your toes are visible. The AI can generate toenails for the user based on the shoe type. This specific capability was introduced in the Doppl application but will also be available here.

This new feature is set to remove a major barrier to online shoe shopping. Do you think this will significantly change how people buy footwear?
