Elon Musk has announced an AI-powered video game developed by his artificial intelligence company, xAI. The game is set to be released by the end of 2026 and will be fully generated by artificial intelligence.
Elon Musk revealed that his AI company, xAI, is developing a video game. Musk stated that the game will be a “great AI-generated game” and will be launched before the end of 2026.
Direct Announcement from Musk

Musk shared the announcement via X (formerly Twitter):
“The xAI game studio will release a great AI-generated game by the end of next year.”
xAI‘s Previous Success and New Investment
The company has primarily been known for its chatbot AI, Grok. However, xAI has begun recruiting talented individuals in the field of game development. As reported by Business Insider on October 3rd, xAI is seeking “video game trainers.” These positions are being created to train the AI models on game design, mechanics, and storytelling.
Investment and Human Resources
Reports indicate that these positions are compensated up to $100 per hour, suggesting that xAI is making a serious investment to prepare its AI technology for the gaming sector. This move aligns with Musk’s strategy to expand xAI beyond chatbots and into the domain of interactive media.
AI-Generated Games are Still Experimental
Musk had previously hinted at plans to establish an AI-powered game studio last year. However, his latest statement clearly confirms xAI‘s intention to release a full-fledged game.
The concept of a game entirely generated by artificial intelligence has not yet been widely attempted on a commercial scale. While many developers already use AI for dialogue, content creation, or procedural design, a completely AI-produced game has not yet reached the mainstream. Musk’s claim that xAI will achieve this within the next 12–15 months raises expectations.
A High-Profile Experiment
Given xAI‘s resources and Musk’s track record of entering various sectors, the project will be followed with great interest. It is certain to be one of the highest-profile attempts to break into the mainstream in the field of AI-driven game development.
