World’s First Integrated Heat Pump and Electric Vehicle Charger Unveiled

Mitsubishi Electric and EVHACS have introduced the world’s first solution that combines heating, cooling, and electric vehicle charging into a single unit. The system is designed for homes and businesses.
Developed in collaboration between Mitsubishi Electric and EVHACS, this innovative system offers homeowners and commercial businesses the ability to both simplify their energy infrastructure and achieve maximum efficiency. The new solution integrates heating, cooling, and EV charging into a single unit that can operate with just one electrical connection.
Two Critical Technologies in a Single Unit

The system, developed through a joint effort between Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Electric and Ireland-based EVHACS, can both heat and cool living spaces and charge electric vehicles. This innovation combines Mitsubishi Electric’s advanced heat pump and climate control systems with EVHACS’s patented electric vehicle charging technology.
The new system offers reduced installation complexity, rapid commissioning, and a lower total system cost, all while having a minimal impact on building aesthetics. Because it operates with just a single electrical connection, there is no need for additional wiring or separate EV chargers. This reduces both installation and long-term maintenance costs.

The system intelligently shares the existing electrical capacity to prevent overloads, eliminating the need for expensive grid upgrades and ensuring optimal performance even during peak usage hours. The EV charger is available in single-phase 7.4 kW or three-phase 22 kW options. The charging cable comes directly connected to the heat pump. The system supports AC charging and is designed to work seamlessly with home energy management systems.
