The company has announced that it will now support cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and PayPal USD (PYUSD). This means PayPal users can now send cryptocurrency transfers to one another.
This PayPal crypto move won’t be limited to just these major players. The platform announced that it will begin supporting more altcoins and stablecoins in the future, although the exact timeline for this process is not yet known.
Transfers Can Be Made Instantly with a Link
The only new feature announced by PayPal isn’t just crypto support. The company also introduced a feature called “PayPal Links.” This new functionality will allow users to make money transfers by creating and sharing a simple link. This will eliminate the need to deal with complicated account information. PayPal believes that simplifying transfers will lead to a significant increase in its user base.
According to PayPal‘s statement, U.S. users will be the first to use the cryptocurrency transfer and PayPal Links features. These features will be rolled out to users in the United Kingdom and Italy within a few weeks, and will then become globally accessible later on.
