WhatsApp Introduces New AI Visual Editing Feature
WhatsApp is introducing a new artificial intelligence visual editing feature, with details emerging in the beta version’s code.
Previously known for its artificial intelligence chatbot, WhatsApp has mostly been associated with messaging functionalities. Yet, the platform is set to unveil an unexpected feature: an AI-powered visual editing tool for its users.
How will the visual editing feature with WhatsApp artificial intelligence be used?
A significant artificial intelligence feature has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta codes. As many are aware, WhatsApp transcends its original chat app functions, including, to a limited extent, photo editing capabilities.
Meta is now enhancing WhatsApp’s photo editing tools with AI support. The feature, identified in the WhatsApp beta version 2.24.7.13, will enable users to edit up to three photos using artificial intelligence.
This addition will allow users to create an ideal background by issuing commands to the AI tool, offering a more personalized and creative backdrop experience. Another AI feature to be integrated into the app is style switching. WhatsApp already provides a selection of filter options, and this AI enhancement will introduce new filters and styles for users to experiment with.
The beta version 2.24.7.13 also reveals an AI-driven expansion tool, akin to Photoshop’s content-aware fill feature. This will enable users to seamlessly fill in background gaps in photos with AI assistance.
While these features have been coded into WhatsApp beta 2.24.7.13, they are not yet live. Nonetheless, developers have laid the groundwork for their implementation.
Presently available in the Android beta program, these AI features are anticipated to roll out in the near future. However, their effectiveness and the timing of Meta’s potential introduction of AI support to other photo-centric social media platforms, such as Instagram, remain to be seen.
