Two New Halo Games May Be Announced This Week

Xbox’s iconic series, Halo, is returning with new games. Two new games may be announced at the Halo World Championships event to be held at the end of this week. Here are the details…

The Halo World Championships event, which will start on Friday, will host important announcements for the future of the series. News circulating for some time suggested that Halo Studios might announce a new game at this event. However, emerging information indicates that the studio has bigger plans.

A Live Service Halo Game is Being Prepared

According to sources close to the studio, not one, but two new games will be unveiled during the Halo World Championships. The first of these will be the long-rumored Halo: Combat Evolved remake. This remake will re-introduce the series’ first game to players with updated graphics and gameplay suited to modern standards. You may recall that a similar effort was recently made for another iconic Xbox game, Gears of War.

The second Halo game, which surfaced as a surprise, is rumored to be a live-service game. It is even said that the studio set out with the goal of creating a Fortnite-like game. In live-service games such as Fortnite, competitive modes that can be played for a long time are prioritized over a story mode. Studios provide a continuously active gaming experience by constantly updating the game with new content, while generating significant revenue from in-game purchases.

Many players have started to approach live-service games with caution after a series of failures. Therefore, the new Halo game being of this genre might disappoint fans of the series. However, the announcement of an additional game (even if it’s a remake) might balance this disappointment to some extent.
