Star Wars Returns to the Big Screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu Trailer

The Star Wars saga is returning to the big screen. The first trailer for the film The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will be released in the summer of 2026, has been officially released.
After a period of being absent from theaters since the final trilogy, the Star Wars series will make its comeback next year with The Mandalorian and Grogu. This film, which continues the story of The Mandalorian series, is set to premiere on May 22, 2026. Disney has begun its promotional efforts for the upcoming film by releasing the first trailer today.
Directed by series creator Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian and Grogu was designed as a feature film from the start but was made with a smaller budget compared to other Star Wars films. This is noticeable in the first trailer, as the production quality of The Mandalorian and Grogu is more in line with The Mandalorian series than previous Star Wars films.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Will Premiere on May 22, 2026
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian and Grogu, which also features Sigourney Weaver, the star of the Alien franchise. They are joined in the cast by Amy Sedaris, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne. While the last season of the series saw Din Djarin and Grogu fighting for control of the planet Mandalore, the film’s synopsis suggests they will embark on a new adventure. The synopsis shared with the trailer states that Mando and Grogu are sent on a difficult mission by the New Republic, which is trying to build a new government after the fall of the Empire. This means the movie will bring a different story for Mando and Grogu to the screen, rather than continuing the series’ main plotline.
