Samsung Rolls Up Its Sleeves for Smart Earrings and Necklaces After the Smart Ring

Following the smart ring, Samsung is now working on different forms of wearable devices such as earrings, necklaces, and glasses. The company’s goal is to develop technologies that allow users to communicate without carrying their phones. In the near future, wearable technology could become as natural and functional as ordinary jewelry.
Samsung has announced that it is working on new device forms like earrings, necklaces, and glasses as alternatives to its existing wearable products such as smartwatches and rings. The company states that these products could enable users to communicate without carrying their phones.

Won-joon Choi, COO of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business, emphasized the importance of wearable devices truly being “wearable without being carried.” In this context, it was stated that the company is moving towards different accessories like glasses, earrings, and necklaces, in addition to traditional wearables such as watches and rings. Work on these new wearables is ongoing.
Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it was developing smart glasses in collaboration with Google. Furthermore, according to a report published in May, the company is also known to be working on a high-resolution micro-display for augmented reality glasses. It is currently unknown when these devices with new form factors will be released. However, Samsung’s steps in this area indicate that wearable technology products could appear in many different forms in the future.
