Huawei’s cheapest car, the Shangjie H5, has launched for pre-sale in China. The model, jointly developed by Huawei and SAIC, is planned to be released on September 23rd and offers both electric and EREV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) options, with prices starting from $23,600.
The Shangjie H5, jointly developed by Huawei and SAIC, was introduced and launched for pre-sale at the HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility Autumn New Product Launch event held today. The model, available for purchase with prices starting at approximately $23,600, will officially launch on September 23rd.

Combining Huawei’s intelligent driving technologies with SAIC’s manufacturing experience, the H5 is equipped with the brand’s latest intelligent driving assistance system, Huawei ADS 4.
In the exterior design, the closed front grille, commonly seen in new-generation electric models, draws attention, while the current Shangjie logo is featured in the center. The LiDAR system placed on the roof, the illuminated brand logo, and the blue lights indicating intelligent driving also emphasize the design’s character.
In the interior, a digital instrument panel and a large multimedia screen are prominent, while features such as a three-spoke sporty steering wheel, a wireless charging unit, and a panoramic sunroof stand out. For rear passengers, there is a center armrest and an independent entertainment screen.
The Shangjie H5 is being launched in two different versions: fully electric and extended-range. The fully electric model offers a range of up to 655 kilometers with an 80 kWh battery pack, achieving a consumption value of 13.4 kWh per 100 kilometers. The extended-range version, on the other hand, provides a pure electric range of 235 kilometers and a total range of up to 1360 kilometers.
