New AirPods 4: Apple’s Smartest Earbuds

The AirPods 4 elevate the experience for iPhone users with Live Translation, enhanced Noise Cancellation, and Adaptive Audio features. Here are the key highlights of the new AirPods 4.
The AirPods, developed by Apple for iPhone users, now function not just as earbuds but virtually as a smart assistant. The Live Translation feature, which comes with iOS 26, pushes the boundaries of technology. All you need to do is select your own language and the language of the person you are speaking to. The AirPods take care of the rest, instantly transmitting the translation to your ear.
With the new update, languages such as Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese have also been added to the supported list.
Noise Cancellation is Now More Powerful

The AirPods 4 series has become almost flawless in terms of design and performance. One model in the series features Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Although this model is slightly more expensive, the silence and focus it offers provide a major advantage, especially for traveling users. Apple’s noise cancellation technology is regarded as one of the most successful systems in the industry. Regardless of crowd, traffic, or office noise, you can easily focus on your music or your work.
Touch Controls: Manage Everything Without Reaching for Your Phone
Taking out your phone from your pocket to change a song or adjust the volume can sometimes be a chore. With the AirPods 4, this trouble is completely eliminated. You can now perform many operations directly from the earbuds:
- Single tap: Plays/pauses media, answers, or ends an incoming call.
- Double tap: Skips to the next song or ends a call.
- Triple tap: Returns to the previous song.
- Press and hold: Activates Siri. You can also answer Siri by shaking your head instead of giving a voice response.
The physical pairing button has been removed on the new AirPods 4. Instead, a hidden touch-sensitive sensor has been added. It is the same in function, only the feel is different.
The Way to Increase Battery Life: Turn Off ANC

The new AirPods 4 models offer up to 5 hours of use on a single charge. This period can extend up to 30 hours with the charging case. However, if you turn on the Active Noise Cancellation feature, this duration drops to 20 hours. Therefore, turning on ANC only when you really need it would be the most logical choice in terms of battery life. On the other hand, if you want to use the Adaptive Audio feature, it is important to remember that it consumes more battery than ANC and Transparency mode.
Adaptive Audio: Smart Reaction Based on the Environment

This feature combines Transparency Mode and Noise Cancellation Mode to automatically adjust according to your surroundings. The cancellation level increases when you enter a noisy environment and decreases when you move to a quiet area. Additionally, the Personalized Volume feature learns your music listening habits and adjusts the volume level according to the environment. The Conversation Awareness mode automatically lowers the volume when someone speaks to you, allowing you to hear the other person. This allows you to talk without taking off the earbuds.
Using with Apple TV for Nighttime Silence

Having to turn down the volume while watching a movie at night is now a thing of the past. You can watch at any volume level you desire by pairing your Apple TV with your AirPods. When you log in with your Apple account, a connection notification appears on the screen as soon as you put on your AirPods. Touch controls, noise cancellation, and other features work just as they do on the iPhone. However, if you want to make more detailed adjustments, you need to do them via your iPhone or Mac.
Is it Safe to Use While Exercising?

While the AirPods series is not specifically produced for athletes, they are sweat and water splash resistant. The AirPods 3, 4, and Pro models have an IP54 certification. This protects them from dust and sweat. Still, it is important to remember that they are not completely waterproof. To mitigate the risk of them falling out during exercise, it is a good idea to test whether they fit securely. Especially since the AirPods 4 are produced in a single size, it is beneficial to test them before your workout if they do not fit your ear perfectly.
