Micro Nation Unknown Building Own Metaverse

Liberland, established in 2015 by Czech activist Vit Jedlicka in a 7-kilometer area between Croatia and Serbia with a libertarian structure, is entering the metaverse.

Liberland, known for receiving tens of thousands of online citizenship applications from Turkey in previous years, is collaborating with the UK-based architecture and design firm Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) to enter the metaverse world.

ZHA will construct a country in the Metaverse for Liberland, a micronation not recognized by the United Nations.

The goal of Liberland Metaverse is to lead the development of Liberland as a micro-nation and establish an independent virtual reality space. Patrik Schumacher, the chief architect of the project, mentions that they aim to make Liberland Metaverse one of the favorite spots in the developing Web 3.0 world.

Discussing Liberland’s metaverse project, which has received over 700,000 citizenship applications worldwide, Schumacher notes that they see the metaverse as the future of the internet, and their designs in the metaverse will be created by architects rather than graphic designers.
