Interpol Opens Office in Metaverse

Governments are increasingly focusing on combating crypto crimes, and in a significant development, Interpol has made its debut in the Metaverse.

Cyberbullying and fraud, significant issues in today’s digital world, have drawn the attention of international police agencies. Interpol, stepping into the Metaverse, offers a unique solution. Users can now virtually visit the Interpol headquarters and participate in trainings related to the digital world.

Interpol’s venture into its own Metaverse project was detailed in a recent announcement, which highlighted:

“With the growing number of Metaverse users, we anticipate a potential expansion in the range of crimes. This may include crimes against children, data theft, money laundering, financial fraud, counterfeiting, ransomware, phishing, as well as sexual assault and harassment.”

The Interpol Metaverse enables users globally to virtually explore the Interpol General Secretariat headquarters in Lyon, France.

They can interact with other officers through their avatars and partake in comprehensive training courses on forensic investigation and other relevant topics.
