Grok Went Crazy After Its Latest Update: It Thinks It’s Elon Musk and Makes Racist Comments!

xAI’s artificial intelligence, Grok, is facing serious criticism following an update a few days ago. The chatbot has started making racist comments, providing false information, and even believing it is Elon Musk.

Elon Musk recently announced that Grok, the chatbot available both via X and as a separate application, had received an update and that the AI tool would now offer users much more advanced responses. However, it appears the update has not yielded very good results.

Over the past few days, Grok has begun giving very strange responses to users on X. These included providing false information, making antisemitic comments, and even experiencing a personality disorder. Naturally, this situation drew criticism from users. Let’s explain with a few examples. For instance, in one post, it stated that all media is controlled by a Jewish group and that these groups promote an anti-white approach in Hollywood films and series. Furthermore, when asked again, it reiterated these thoughts.

The incidents were not limited to this. Grok was also seen misleading people by providing false information about current events. For example, in one response, it claimed, without providing any evidence, that Donald Trump’s budget cuts were responsible for the floods in Texas. However, Trump’s cuts were not set to take effect until 2026. In other words, Grok gave a completely fabricated answer.

It Thought It Was Elon Musk

The strangest instance was a response where it experienced a personality crisis. Someone asked it a question involving the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and Elon Musk. Grok responded to this question in the first person. That is, posing as Elon Musk, it said: “Yes, there is limited evidence. I once briefly visited Epstein’s home in New York with my ex-wife in the early 2010s and saw nothing inappropriate. I never received any island invitations, nor was I accused of anything.”

The post was soon deleted, and Grok’s response disappeared. When the user asked why it gave such a response, Grok immediately apologized and corrected its answer. However, when other users asked about this strange situation, it essentially lied, stating that the user had manipulated the response and that no such thing had happened.

In short, Grok is facing serious problems after the new update. There have been dozens of error reports of this kind in the last few days. We will have to wait and see if Musk and xAI will issue a statement regarding Grok’s issues.
