Google Vids, Google’s artificial intelligence tool for creating videos from text, is now available to select users.

Artificial intelligence is one of the most exciting technologies of recent times, with numerous tech companies, both large and small, developing their own AI tools. Leading the charge is Google. The tech giant, riding the wave of AI advancements, is eager to be at the forefront of this field. In addition to its Gemini AI tool, Google has now introduced Google Vids.

First announced in April, this new AI application has been made accessible to some users. Google Vids can integrate with tools like Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, allowing users to create videos from text commands.

Google Vids is now available to select users in the first phase

Google Vids, now integrated into Google Workspace, has been launched to a select group of users for the initial testing phase. According to Google’s statement on its help page, the tool will gradually be made available to more users after thorough testing and refinement.

While Google Vids may not yet match the capabilities of OpenAI’s Sora tool, it offers features such as creating storyboards, generating scenes from text, and scripting for videos or audio recordings. Additionally, users can enhance their projects with stock images and videos.

Google Vids has the potential to offer much more once it is fully launched. It remains to be seen whether Google will be able to compete with Sora or provide a viable alternative.
