Electric pickup truck from BYD offers 100 km range with a 10-minute charge: Coupe Truck T4

BYD’s new electric pickup truck model, the T4, offers passenger comfort in urban distribution with a 62.3 kWh battery, 330 km range, 204 hp power, fast charging, and advanced safety systems.

BYD has initiated a comprehensive transformation focused on comfort, safety, and efficiency in the urban distribution segment by introducing its new-generation light commercial truck, the T4 model, at the Wuhan International Commercial Vehicle Show. At the launch, all of the model’s technical and user-focused developments were shared in detail.

An electric pickup with passenger vehicle comfort

With the T4 model, BYD aims to break the long-standing perception in the small truck segment of “just carrying cargo.” BYD’s globally prominent three-electric system (battery, motor, and electronic control) elevates both the efficiency and driving comfort of the T4 to the level of a passenger vehicle.

The model comes with a 62.3 kWh capacity Blade LFP battery and offers a 330-kilometer range on the CLTC cycle. The design approach, based on safety and comfort, completely changes the traditional driving feel of small trucks. Consequently, the cabin experience is arranged from top to bottom according to passenger car standards. The interior features the DiLink infotainment system and an LCD instrument panel. Features like an ergonomic keypad, leather seats, and temperature control are included. The vehicle, capable of carrying a 3-ton load, provides 20 percent more carrying capacity than other similar vehicles. The vehicle, which has an internal length of 4,100 mm, produces 204 horsepower with its 150 kW motor. The vehicle can easily climb 35% grade ramps even when fully loaded.

Energy efficiency is also strong. Thanks to BYD‘s self-developed three-electric system, the vehicle can travel 5.5 kilometers on 1 kWh of energy. The battery’s direct cooling with refrigerant also enables fast charging, providing “100 km of range in 10 minutes.” Furthermore, EPB (Electric Parking Brake), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), and more than 10 other driving assistance functions come as standard.

The BYD T4 is also highly competitive in total cost of ownership, thanks to the company’s 10-year, 800,000 km warranty on its three-electric system. The starting price of the vehicle is approximately $13,500 (95,800 yuan).
