Coca-Cola & Microsoft’s $1.1B AI Partnership Unveiled
Microsoft and The Coca-Cola Company recently announced a five-year strategic partnership valued at $1.1 billion.
This collaboration aims to align Coca-Cola’s core technology strategy across its global system, promote the adoption of cutting-edge technology, and foster innovation worldwide. As part of this partnership, Coca-Cola will utilize Microsoft’s cloud computing and artificial intelligence services.
AI partnership from Coca-Cola and Microsoft
Under the $1.1 billion, five-year agreement, Microsoft and Coca-Cola will collaborate using Azure OpenAI to develop generative AI use cases across various business functions. This includes exploring how Copilot for Microsoft 365 can enhance workplace productivity.
For those unfamiliar, Copilot can be considered a derivative of ChatGPT. Built and customized by Microsoft using OpenAI’s GPT-4 model, Copilot is an AI assistant designed to assist professionals by writing and summarizing emails, creating slides, and preparing presentations.
Moreover, the partnership between Coca-Cola and Microsoft is not a new development. Approximately four years ago, Coca-Cola signed a five-year deal worth $250 million to utilize Microsoft’s cloud and business software, migrating all its applications to Microsoft Azure.
Over the past year, Coca-Cola has been leveraging generative AI, specifically Azure OpenAI, to innovate across functions including marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
