Claude Models Come to Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft 365 Copilot can now be used with Anthropic’s Claude models. Users in Researcher and Copilot Studio will be able to experience Claude for complex research tasks.
Microsoft has announced that it has added Anthropic’s Claude models to Microsoft 365 Copilot. According to the statement, Claude is primarily being integrated into Copilot’s Researcher tool and Copilot Studio, the AI agent development tool.
The Claude Era in Copilot

While Microsoft emphasizes that Copilot still runs on OpenAI’s latest models, beta testers can now try the Claude Opus 4.1 model. The Researcher tool was designed to manage complex, multi-step research, and this functionality is now supported by Claude. In a short video shared by Microsoft, a new “Try Claude” button is visible in the upper right corner of the research agent’s interface.
A similar option is also available within Copilot Studio. Here, users can select between OpenAI and Anthropic models via a drop-down menu. The Claude integration is currently offered through Microsoft’s Frontier beta program, and participants must sign up and consent to use the system. Widespread availability is expected to happen later. Microsoft stated that the integration will not be limited to this initial phase, and Anthropic models will make the Microsoft 365 Copilot experience even more powerful.
