ChatGPT Users Buzzing: Is GPT-5 on the Horizon?
In recent developments within the artificial intelligence sector, OpenAI’s GPT language models have been at the forefront.
The company introduced the GPT-4 Turbo model in November 2023. Since then, anticipation has been building for GPT-5.
Expected to be trained on a significantly larger dataset, GPT-5 has been eagerly awaited. Finally, there has been a development that has sparked excitement among users. So, the question arises: Will GPT-5 be released?
Exciting statements from the CEO of OpenAI! Will GPT-5 be released?
Based on information previously disclosed, GPT-5 is anticipated to possess 100 times more parameters than GPT-4. Consequently, there’s significant curiosity regarding the release date of the new model. Excitement was further fueled by statements from OpenAI’s CEO.
In an interview with podcaster Lex Fridman, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman provided intriguing yet vague responses about GPT-5.
When Fridman humorously suggested Altman blink twice if the model was to be released this year, Altman disclosed that a new language model would indeed be launched within the year, although the naming of the model remains undecided. Fridman attempted to elicit a more definitive response.
Further into the conversation, the CEO elaborated, emphasizing that the upcoming model’s advanced features will stand out, regardless of whether it’s named GPT-5 or something else. Altman’s metaphor of “turning 200 medium-sized things into one giant thing” sparked additional curiosity.
According to Sam Altman, OpenAI is poised for a significant announcement in the near future. We await to see what this new model will entail. What are your thoughts on this development? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section below.
