Apple Preparing to Unveil a New Vision Pro This Year: What’s Different From the Old Model?

According to leaked details, Apple is set to release a new Vision Pro with an M4 chip before the end of this year. So, what are the differences that set this new Vision Pro apart from its predecessor?
Although it hasn’t garnered the desired interest since its initial release, Apple is preparing to introduce a refreshed version of the Vision Pro this year. The biggest innovation is that the device will now come with Apple’s powerful M4 chip, which has recently been used in the iPad Pro and some Macs. This chip will significantly boost the Vision Pro’s performance.
Previously, some analysts claimed the new model would feature an M5 chip, but the latest information indicates that Apple has settled on the M4 chip for this year. The current Vision Pro houses an M2 chip, meaning even the M4 represents a significant leap in performance.
M4 Chip and a Brand-New Strap

The new model won’t just see a chip upgrade; comfort will also be greatly improved. Apple is working on a new head strap designed to reduce headaches and neck strain. The straps on the current Vision Pro were uncomfortable for some users. The newly developed strap will make it easier to use the Vision Pro for extended periods.
Furthermore, Apple is also conducting tests on an improved Neural Engine to better run the device’s artificial intelligence features. The specific new features we’ll see in the final product as a result of these tests are not yet known.
After this new version is released this year, no other new version of the Vision Pro will be introduced until 2026. Apple will focus its efforts on developing a much lighter model for release in 2027. This model is even rumored to be named “Vision Air.”
