A Brand New Layer of Exploration for No Man’s Sky: The “Breach” Update is Live

No Man’s Sky invites players to discover explorable space wrecks, new storylines, and rare rewards with the “Breach” update. The game, approaching its 10th anniversary, continues its journey with new surprises.

No Man’s Sky, which wrote one of the few “comeback stories” in video game history, continues to expand this saga with every new update. The production, which was once in the news due to claims of false advertising, has been transformed into a completely different experience thanks to the determination of the UK-based Hello Games team. The studio is now releasing a new update that adds completely explorable space wrecks to the game.

Wrecks Drifting in Space and New Discoveries

The Breach update, following the comprehensive Voyagers expansion released in August, offers players the opportunity to explore and salvage massive wrecks drifting in space. Materials collected from these wrecks can be used to build new ship parts.

The Voyagers update garnered significant interest when it allowed players to build their own crewed ships. Based on this positive feedback, Hello Games also announced that it has improved and expanded its workshop system.

New Story Event: The Secret of the Lost Ship

The Breach update also introduces a new expedition, a limited-time, story-driven event. In this event, players will set out to “uncover the truth behind a mysterious wreck in a desolate and deserted universe.”

Players who can progress to the edge of space and find the remains of this abandoned ship will earn rare parts and glowing Atlas-themed wings that they can use on their own ships. This horror-themed event is perfect for playing with friends during the Halloween season.

Towards the 10th Anniversary: New Clues from Hello Games

No Man’s Sky is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026. Sean Murray, the studio’s founder, stated that this year has been “crazy” for the team and indicated that Breach is the last major update of the year.

Nevertheless, Murray hints that the surprises are not over. While introducing the Voyagers expansion in August, he also mentioned Hello Games’ new project, the game Light No Fire. This open-world survival game is also expected to utilize the ship-building technology from No Man’s Sky. The release date for the game is not yet known.
