One-Third of Singles Interested in Metaverse Dating
According to a study by Dating.com, a significant portion of singles are open to exploring romance in the metaverse. The data reveals that 33 percent of singles are considering dating in the metaverse to find love.
Online dating has already become a prevalent aspect of modern relationships. Statista’s data suggests that the number of people using online dating services is expected to reach approximately 280 million by 2024.
The research from Dating.com indicates a readiness among singles to venture into love-seeking in the metaverse. Utilizing metaverse avatars may enhance face-to-face communication and foster digital intimacy, the study suggests.
Furthermore, the borderless nature of the metaverse could enable individuals from various parts of the globe to connect with people they wouldn’t normally encounter.
“With the progress in dating app technology and the metaverse, it’s becoming increasingly common for people from different cities, countries, and even continents to engage in flirting with each other,” the research notes.
One-third of the participants in the study expressed openness to forming relationships with individuals outside their geographical area.
Consumer interest in the Metaverse is also growing. Data from Capgemini, a business and technology strategy consulting firm, indicates that over 90 percent of consumers show interest in the metaverse.
