Meta to Open Metaverse Academy in France

Meta is actively addressing the expansion of the metaverse globally, and the company has recently revealed plans to establish a ‘metaverse academy’ in France.

As the metaverse industry continues to penetrate new sectors and attract diverse audiences, Meta, previously known as Facebook, is reinforcing its commitment to the metaverse vision by creating an academy in France.

Laurent Solly, Meta’s vice president for southern Europe, stated that the academy’s inaugural year aims to provide free training to approximately 100 students, including specialized technology developers, support personnel, and assistance technicians.

Solly emphasized a focus on diversity, highlighting that 30 percent of the initial group will be comprised of women.

Frederic Bardeau, co-founder and CEO of Simplon, a French company collaborating with Meta, specified that the training would be conducted in person and centered around projects that emphasize the 3D world and interactions within virtual universes.

It’s noteworthy that Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, recently acknowledged that the metaverse is a nascent industry that may not yield short-term profits.

This underscores Meta’s strategic investment in education and training to cultivate talent for the emerging metaverse landscape.
