Google’s First AI-Powered Smart Glasses Arrive in 2026

Google is set to launch its AI glasses, developed in collaboration with Samsung and Warby Parker, in 2026. With voice command support and models featuring built-in displays, a strong competitor to Meta is emerging.
Google is preparing to make a powerful re-entry into the AI-focused eyewear market. The company announced plans to release its first AI-supported glasses in 2026. As is known, Meta had gained significant momentum in this field, especially through its collaboration with Ray-Ban. Now, Google aims to strengthen its position in this growing market.

Releasing in Two Different Types The hardware design for the tech giant’s new glasses (under Alphabet) is being conducted jointly with Samsung, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker. It is known that Google made a $50 million commitment regarding these partnerships in May.
Google’s planned product family is divided into two distinct categories. In the first phase, voice-focused glasses where users can interact by speaking with the Gemini AI assistant will be released. This will be followed by models capable of directly displaying information such as navigation directions and instant translation thanks to a micro-display embedded within the lens.
Although Google stated that these display-equipped models would be introduced next year, it did not disclose which designs would hit the market first. Ultimately, a full response to Meta’s product range will be offered. The new glasses are being built upon the Android XR operating system, which the company developed for headsets. This means tighter integration with Google’s extensive ecosystem and greater flexibility for developers. One of the partners, Warby Parker, confirmed that the first model developed with Google will go on sale in 2026.
