World of Warcraft’s new expansion pack, Midnight, will meet players in the first months of 2026. The expansion pack is now open for pre-order on digital stores.
Active days are happening at Blizzard following Gamescom 2025. The release date for the long-awaited expansion pack World of Warcraft: Midnight has finally been finalized. After intense rumors, Blizzard opened the new expansion for pre-order and announced that it will launch on March 2, 2026.
World of Warcraft: Midnight Release Date Revealed
Constituting the middle chapter of the Worldsoul Saga trilogy led by Chris Metzen, who left Blizzard in 2016 and returned in 2023, Midnight follows the events after The War Within. The great chaos beginning with Xal’atath’s return to Azeroth extends to the center of Eversong Woods, the homeland of the Blood Elves. Meanwhile, the Voidstorm gathering over the ancient elven kingdom Quel’thalas creates a danger of extinguishing all light.
The expansion pack offers players a very broad content list, ranging from new zones to in-game systems. The new map layout where Eversong Woods merges with Ghostlands, areas like Zul’Aman and Harandar, the Voidstorm region, 11 Delves, 8 dungeons, and 3 raids make up Midnight’s core content. Additionally, the new Haranir Allied Race, the Devourer specialization added to the Demon Hunter class, the new PvP mode Training Grounds, a new battleground, and the completely redesigned Silvermoon City are among the prominent headlines of this expansion.
After the release date became clear, the most talked-about detail was the entry of the long-requested player housing system into the game with this pack. Although the actual expansion will open for access in March, users who pre-order the expansion will be able to access this feature early on December 2. Upon establishing their own homes and earning the “Welcome Home” achievement, they will have the opportunity to win rewards spreading to other games in the Blizzard ecosystem. These rewards include a wide variety of titles, and with cross-game integration, players’ collections will be strengthened.
