SpaceX Launches 10,000th Starlink Satellite into Space

SpaceX launched its 10,000th Starlink satellite into orbit on October 20th. This historic moment is a major milestone in the goal of establishing a global satellite internet network.

SpaceX‘s Starlink satellite internet project passed a significant milestone on October 20, 2025, by launching its 10,000th satellite. This mission, which was the 132nd Falcon 9 launch of 2025, further expanded the company’s network in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

Reaching 10,000 satellites has been one of the most concrete developments supporting Starlink‘s vision of providing global internet access. The number of currently active satellites has exceeded 6,000. The other satellites are either in the testing phase or are deactivated.

This figure means that a large portion of the total active satellites in space belong to Starlink. Experts point out that this density could also bring about problems such as the risk of collision in orbit and space debris.

In the future, Starlink is expected to further increase its satellite count to enhance coverage quality and facilitate internet access in areas remote from city centers. However, this growth may create new responsibilities for regulatory bodies and astronomers.
