Meta has released a new AI-powered feature for Reels videos. This new feature will allow videos to be automatically dubbed into another language. Moreover, even the lip movements in the video will be altered by artificial intelligence.
Meta, one of the world’s largest social media companies, had announced a significant AI-powered feature at an event last year. Thanks to this feature, Reels content on Instagram could be dubbed into another language. Furthermore, this feature would also integrate the mouth movements in the video with the language being translated.
Now, there has been a new development on this front. Meta has made the feature available on Facebook and Instagram. For now, the new feature is only available to Facebook users in the U.S. with over 1,000 followers and public Instagram accounts, and it seems poised to significantly change the user experience on Facebook and Instagram.
For Now, It Only Works Between English and Spanish
Users who want to try Meta’s new feature will need to use English or Spanish, as the dubbing tool does not yet support any other languages. A content creator, creating a Reels video as they normally would, will see a new section for dubbing before publishing the video. After clicking here and selecting the options, the user will wait for Meta AI to complete the translation process. It should also be noted that a label will be added to the translated videos.
The new feature for Reels videos represents a major opportunity for content creators who want to grow internationally. This is because followers will not have to make an extra effort to see the translated videos. The language of the video will be automatically determined based on a user’s default language.
