OpenAI’s GPT-5 Leaked: What the New Model Brings to the Table

A few hours before its highly anticipated release, the features of the GPT-5 model were leaked. OpenAI’s new language model, GPT-5, which has been in development for a long time, has become the talk of the town before its official announcement. The leaked information suggests that the model is designed specifically for different use cases.

The initial information about OpenAI’s new and highly anticipated model, GPT-5, was accidentally uploaded to GitHub in a blog post. The content, which was deleted shortly after, was first noticed on Reddit and then picked up by the technology press.

According to the leaked information, GPT-5 will come in four different versions tailored for different needs. The main version, GPT-5, seems to be designed for multi-step processes and tasks that require logic.

The leaked documents indicate that GPT-5 will be more advanced than previous models in terms of its ability to generate software, its reasoning capabilities, and its overall user experience. It’s also noted that the model is designed to act more like an independent digital assistant, capable of handling more complex tasks with fewer commands.

On the other hand, it’s said that the performance increase of GPT-5 might be limited. Internal tests conducted by the company show that the model has made progress in areas like mathematics, coding, and command execution, but these improvements are not as significant as the leap from GPT-3 to GPT-4. It’s also mentioned that the model codenamed “Orion,” which was previously considered a candidate for GPT-5, did not meet expectations and was therefore released for a limited time under the name GPT-4.5.

Additionally, the logic-focused o1 and o3 versions, while performing well in some tasks, were found to be insufficient for everyday conversations. The o3-pro model, in particular, was noted for using an unnecessarily high amount of processing power to generate even a simple greeting.

The new model is also said to be able to dynamically adjust its processing power based on the complexity of the task. This aims to prevent issues like the “unnecessary processing load” that were encountered in previous versions. Although the leaked document was removed shortly after, the information that has come to light suggests that GPT-5 is focused more on a gradual evolution rather than a major leap. The full performance of the model will become clear after the official announcement.
